Today was the day I was suppose to ship to basic, but because of extra troops, 30 of us were held behind to ship on Thursday. Very tough day. I saw my Platoon at lunch, just before they left. Today was very tough-- I sat all day in the main lobby and I fought sleep a couple of times. Today was "big brass day." I met a few Captains, a Major, and the Sergeant Major of the Battalian. I'm already nervous as it is keeping track of the enlisted. Protocol and courtesy is tough for a civilian. I am so worried about screwing up because of what a hard time they give you. No mistakes. If you accidently call a Sergeant Major wrong, you could get your pay and rank taken away! It is especially tough here since Drill Sergeants keep yelling at you-- and this is just reception. I've heard so many cuss words I can hardly belive it. It's like a long running rated-R movie. A never-ending string of explitives, racial and sexual slurs. I'm trying my best to just let it slide because I can't do anything about it.
